By Cheryl
Anderson, Brian A. Crowell, Tom Mackin. This is a
fundamental golf book for beginners who want to be
comfortable on the course. According to the National
Golf Foundation, 41 percent of golfers have an average
score of 100 or above for 18 holes. While there are
countless books to help good golfers get even better,
there are few books for these "pleasure" golfers who
simply want to have fun and not embarrass themselves.
Instead of laborious text loaded with theory and tech
talk, this guide contains hundreds of color photos
that demonstrate golf's fundamentals alongside clear
explanations. Photo by photo and step by step, this
book covers: -Key basics like grip, stance, and swing
-The different shots, including driving, chipping,
putting, and sand shots -Problem-solving for issues
like slicing, hooking, and topping -The rules and
etiquette of this complex gameThis must-have book will
help both beginners and veteran duffers progress from
putt-putt to two-putts and from slices to
somewhere-in-the-fairway. Cheryl Anderson (Stamford,
